On Wednesday, February 20, 2013, a group of local high-school students gathered in two classrooms in the Science Complex to take two of the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) tests. Dr. Gene Chin, of the West Windsor and Plainsboro School District, coordinated the AMC 10B and 12B tests, assisted by Dr. Qifu Zheng (above), of TCNJ’s department of Mathematics and Statistics. The tests are part of a nationwide series given as part of the AMC program. This program is sponsored by The Mathematical Association of America (MAA), and is dedicated to strengthening the mathematical capabilities of our nation’s youth.
