Dr. Farshid Safi to Present 2 Invited Sessions at NCTM Conference

Dr. Farshid Safi will present two invited sessions at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Regional Conference in Atlantic City, NJ. In addition, the 4 students in his guided study course this term (MTT 392 – Guided Study in Mathematics Education) will be attending the conference and assisting with the sessions. They are Elizabeth Egan, Allison Lombardi, Erin Suozzo, and Amanda Wegman.

Experience this interactive session focusing on students’ reasoning and sense making using dynamic technology. Explore strategies that connect mathematical notions including finding solutions to algebraically “unsolvable” problems. Multiple perspectives that promote classroom discourse and involve dynamic technology and software will be discussed.
