In mid-November 2011, Professor Chamont Wang gave an invited presentation on dynamic data visualization and conducted a workshop on the Tableau software package at the INFORMS conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. Christopher Lombardi (shown above), a TCNJ senior statistics major working with Dr. Wang, participated in the presentation. Tableau was created by Professor Pat Hanrahan of Stanford University to help people on the visualization of complicated data sets. Tableau was the result of work on a Defense Department project. Dr. Hanrahan is also a founding member of Pixar, the studio that produced blockbuster films such as Toy Story and WALL-E. Dr. Wang and Chris look forward to future collaboration working with the Tableau software package.
