Applied Education Congress – 20th Annual International Conference (September 2012)
Dr. Farshid Safi was invited to speak at the Twentieth Annual International Applied Education Congress. He presented the paper: “Supporting Teachers’ Development of Technology-Based Lessons for Algebra and Geometry.” Proceedings of the 20th Annual Applied Education Congress. Ankara, Turkey
Afterwards, he held a follow-up meeting with district representatives to compare ways of incorporating technology in preparation of students and teachers
Extending TCNJ’s Global Footprint
After the conference was over, Dr. Safi visited Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey. While there, he held meetings with Faculty members from their Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Computer Science departments and discussed potential collaboration including joint grants. In addition, he met with department heads from Mathematics and Computer Science regarding potential equivalent courses and exchange opportunities for Undergraduate and Graduate Students.
