Banff International Research Station

Dr Gevertz and Dr Nardini gave keynote presentations at a workshop on “Mechanistic Learning as a combination of Machine Learning and Modeling in Mathematical Oncology” last week at the Banff International Research Station in Banff, Alberta, Canada. The workshop brought together data scientists and mathematical modelling researchers to explore the potential for personalized cancer treatment from a multidisciplinary angle by harmonizing data-driven insights and advanced modelling techniques. Dr Gevertz and Dr Nardini were invited to give two of the five keynote presentations, showing TCNJ’s impact and leadership in the field of mathematical oncology.
Dr. Gevertz’s talk and Dr. Nardini’s talk were titled “Model-driven experimental design with applications to cancer immunotherapy” and “Forecasting and predicting stochastic agent-based models of cell migration with biologically-informed neural networks.”
