Dr. Leona Harris will be a fellowship review panelist for the 2013 Ford Foundation Graduate Fellowship Programs. The National Research Council (NRC) of the National Academies administers Ford Fellowship awards at the predoctoral, dissertation, and postdoctoral levels. Approximately 120 awards are made each year, including 60 predoctoral awards, 35 dissertation awards, and 24 postdoctoral awards. Over 3,000 Ford Foundation-sponsored awards have been granted over the life of programs administered by the National Academies. The process for selecting awards recipients includes the review of applications by expert panels consisting of scholars from academia, industry, the private sector, and the government. A preliminary online review of applications in Feburary precedes on-site reviews and deliberations to determine award recipients. The on-site review will take place at the Beckman Center of the National Academies in Irvine, CA, on March 4-5, 2013.
