The Mathematics and Statistics Department at TCNJ is proud to announce that Peter Tonuzi was awarded departmental honors in Mathematics. Peter presented his math honors thesis, “State Polynomials of Periodic Knots and Quotient Knots,” during a talk on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. His thesis was based on research he did with Dr. Cynthia Curtis during the past year.
A second-generation Albanian-American, Peter transferred from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2018, where he had been studying Engineering. He came to TCNJ’s Mathematics and Statistics Department when he realized he preferred Mathematics. He will be graduating this month with a BS in Mathematics.
