Four Math & Stat Majors Advance to NCAA Division III Soccer Finals With TCNJ Women’s Soccer Team

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics sent four of our majors, Victoria D’Imperio (Early Childhood Education), Lindsay O’Keefe (Statistics), Kara Magliaro (Secondary Education), and Alexandria Panasuk (Elementary Education) to the Division III Final Four Women’s Soccer tournament in Greensboro, NC last weekend. After winning in the semi-final round, the team lost in the finals, their only loss of the season. The weekend capped off an incredible season for the team, during which they won the NJAC Conference Championship.

The team entered the NCAA Championships after winning the NJAC Conference Championship by defeating Rowan University on penalty kicks. Alex Panasuk had the game winning save.

They took their undefeated record into the NCAA National Championship. They rolled through the first four outscoring their opponents 11-2 to earn a spot in the final four. They won a nail biter against Wesleyan (CT) in the semifinals in which Lindsay O’Keefe had three shots and Alex Panasuk (shown in image) made two saves.

Congratulations!
