The TCNJ Department of Mathematics and Statistics is delighted to welcome our newest faculty member, Dr. Grigory Sokolov. Dr. Sokolov will join the TCNJ family in August. Dr. Sokolov earned his Bachelor’s and Masters of Science in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. He went on to earn his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics (with a concentration in Statistics) from the University of Southern California. He did his postdoctoral work at Binghamton University, where he also fell in love with topology. Dr. Sokolov’s research interests span applied probability and theoretical statistics to numerical analysis and parallel programming. In his spare time he loves to sail and play piano.
